I’m breaking out of my stoic silence to address some grievances that I think are “more shallow” than what some people think about our opinions on those tweets not a few weeks ago and for issues long before that.I’m not about to start a war but I feel that I have to say something.
To all Tom fans who are angry at Emma for not mentioning him in her acceptance speech, griping that she took away his credit in the movies.
1. She acknowledged all the cast involved albeit in a general sense. That’s enough for me. I’m not griping that she didn’t mention Maggie Smith, Gary Oldman or Alan Rickman either. And they are A-listers.
2.Draco is not a main character. While he did play an important role in the film, he’s not as important as Dan, Emma and Rupert’s character.
3,. The trio have almost 85 percent of their scenes together all throughout the duration of the movie series They have a special bond so it’s natural for Emma to acknowledge them.
4. You say you are losing your respect for her just because she failed to mention him in her speech? Look who’s s petty now?
All these years we Emma Watson fans have grinned and bore it every time Felton disses her (indirectly), ignore her, deny her or throw stuff back in her face. Every time fans would rise to his defense saying “it’s random”, “he didn’t mean anything by it”, “maybe he really didn’t know”, “you are reading too much into it”, “leave him alone, he’s happy now.” Same excuses every time.
So it’s okay for him to do these things and Emma does this one thing (which “I’m sure she didn’t mean anything by it” RIGHT BACK AT YOU) and you are all steaming? Now you know how we feel. And it’s not even that blatant compared to what he is doing.
I just need to get this off my chest because I have stood by and watched for far too long.I won’t stand for it any longer. I’m glad she did it. Emma had been meek and gracious to him one time too many. It’s about time she gives him a taste of his own medicine. And rightfully so. My rant and opinion ends here.
COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THIS! Especially with point 4; while Emma barely avoided some questions about Tom, Tom really behaved weird towards Emma—and in case you forgot: it was Tom who left last year during Emma’s speech with his gf. You could see that Emma was kind of shocked to see HP won something (I am still surprised myself okay), and she also didn’t mentioned Matt, Evanna, Bonnie etc. even though she seems to stand closer to them than Tom right now. So just shut the fuck up—especially those Tom Felton fans who claim that we Feltson shippers are disrespectful for not liking Jade, but as soon as Emma doesn’t mention him, you blow up or what. Let me tell you: by far, Tom behaved worse towards/about Emma (at least in public) than what Emma did—what did she do again? Yes, not mentioning his name out of like 200 other members, and that in her shocked state. Btw, while I know that there are a lot of Tom fans out there, he’s a great actor etc., I’m not sure if it was just a mistake when they mentioned his name alongside Emma, Dan & Rupert.
And before you attack me or whatever—because I saw some people who weren’t even fans ranting about Tom always being respectful towards Emma, when he seriously wasn’t—I’m an Emma Watson fan. I’m a Tom Felton fan. And I ship Feltson to death. So yeah … just thought about giving my opinion, because all the things I read in the various tags here, just made me want to smash my head against something. -.-
I just felt I need to say something because I’ve been seeing this all over my dash. Although I haven’t watched MMA, I saw Emma gifs and read everything she said when she received the award.
I just have to say: there is nothing wrong with NOT mentioning Tom. This isn’t because they are ignoring each other, no. It’s more, like, common courtesy. Call it what you will, ‘cold shoulder’ or ‘taste of your own medicine’ or whatever. Their history is quite common knowledge to us, and them doing this to each other is entirely sinking our faith in them.
She mentioned the principal cast (The Trio), the notable villains, even the magical creatures remembered, and the number of the whole cast involved in the HP films, I think that’s more than enough.
I don’t understand the hate at all. That’s rather irrational and uncalled for. Although I do wish they’ll be together in a project or something, then why not? But for now, let’s just see. But please, no hating.

I don’t think I will ever accept an award on behalf of so many people. From Ralph Fiennes to Helena Bonham Carter to Hedwig and Dobby and all of them, this is amazing! We had over 200 cast members and I wish they could all be up here with me now. Sadly, they can’t. Obviously, I share this award, in particular, with Dan and Rupert.
